2026 – Our inaugural season

In 2026, soiling started in late May and ended in late October–the operation ran from snowmelt to the first fall snow. McArthur consisted of a single team of 12 soilers that worked exclusively in the field, plus 4 lab techs who worked exclusively at the particle-size lab in Gatineau, Quebec. The lab ran 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. Kenorland was our sole client. The team jumped from project to project, primarily in Northern Ontario–Twinflower, West Wabigoon, Flora, Central Uchi, North Uchi and Miminiska projects–with stints in Saskatchewan (Settee) and New Brunswick (Atlantic). The Gatineau lab crew consisted of Sharina Estacion, Lauren Jeffrey, Rachad Belmehdi, and Xavier Plumb. The May-August soiling team consisted of Taarak Sammeta, Lily Ragsdale, Andre Harris, Gorka Ortega-Mateos, Mathew Ghirardi, Tim Payne, Luke Alessio, Andrew Shirima, Calum Rogers, Marika Garzoni, Reese Corey, Lucas Young, and, for a few weeks in the end of August, Lea Marceau. In September (Central Uchi), the team consisted of Taarak, Lily, Tim, Calum plus Sean Kovacs, Kyle Macleod, Emily Cuch, Zoe Starnino, Connor Maclaren, Aoife O’Mahony and Loic Samson. In October (New Brunswick, Atlantic Project), it was Taarak, Lily, Aoife, Sean, Kyle plus Mariele Guerrero, Margaret Bowes, Grant Hash, Noah Martin, Binta Goodridge, Jorn Schumann and Brandon Benoit. Chef JP Gorley rounded out the Fall 2026 team.
